Measurin' Up

Hello Everyone! It's a dreary Saturday where I am (VA) so I thought I'd share this fun, cheerful card I made with the School Days set!

How cute is she? My card base is Gable Green, my next layer is Pomegranate Pink, and my dp is from Basic Grey's Eva line. The image panel is Naturals White. I colored the schoolgirl with Copics and popped her up on dimensionals. To frame my window punch sentiment, I just cut out two extra blank ones, and added them underneath the top layer!

Hi everyone! It's time to highlight another one of our fabulous design team members. This week it's the fabulous Taylor Usry! What can I say about Taylor....we completely adore that woman! Her enthusiasm is so infectious and her design work outstanding! Taylor always has us amazed with her adorably cute cards and projects and has even been inspiration to us and a sounding board for new ideas. We love having Taylor on our design team and think she totally ROCKS!

Product of the Week :: Damask

This week's featured product is our Damask stamp set. Damask patterned products are everywhere! I was shopping this weekend and couldn't help but notice how many damask prints I was seeing...on gift boxes, stationery, clothing, bedding, everywhere. I have a brown and blue damask-pattern bedspread that reminds me very much of this card that Jeni designed for us below...

 

The images in our Damask set are great for making background patterns. As also seen in the card below designed by Joslyn...

From the LAD Archives...Blissful Blossoms

 

Can you feel it? Springtime is slowly making it's way to us! As we get closer to March I keep looking for signs of spring...I was very happy to see little flower buds on a tree yesterday and my friend took me to her garden to show me the little tops of her crocuses and tulips that were starting to creep up from the ground. A lovely sight!

I've chosen our popular Blissful Blossoms stamp set to feature from the LAD Archives today because this set really gets me in the mood for spring.

 

I paired some sunny, springtime colors on the card above with Blissful Blossom images. Sentiment is from Sketched Sentiments.

 

I love the bright colors on this card that Kendra designed...it reminds me of strawberries! Happy Birthday sentiment also from Sketched Sentiments.

 

This card that Jeni designed for us is one that I've duplicated many times...love the circles and the blossoms work great for that type of a layout.

 

This card that Michele Boyer designed for us is so happy...look how gorgeous those blossoms are! Love the little 3-D bee at the top. Sentiment is from Say it in Script.

 

This is a scrapbook page I did of my daughter in her Easter dress last year...she is sitting in my neighbor's flower bed, ha ha!  I used images from Blissful Blossoms to "spring-up" my page.

 

This is a little Easter gift basket I made last year with a flower and bee on the top of the can.

Hi everyone! It's that time again, so let's get to it. This week's Rock Star Design Team Member is the fabulous Rose Ann Reynolds!  Rose Ann's unique design style caught our eye long before she joined our design team, so needless to say, we were super thrilled when she said yes! Rose Ann rocks with her fantastic layouts and yummy color combos. I'm usually on the edge of my seat to see the next great thing she creates. :) We absolutely love having Rose Ann on our team!

She's Tutu Purplicious!!

Hello everyone! I'm here to share with you a fun new feature on the blog! Each month, somewhere around mid-month, I'll be doing what I'm calling "Little People on Parade"! Doesn't that sound fun? It's all about showcasing the Lizzie Anne Designs Little People, which are some of my favorite Lizzie Anne stamps.  So, without further adieu, let me introduce you to our first little sweetie!

In the spotlight this month is the Ballerina. She can be purchased as a Simply Single, or in the Little Bits set. I'm proud of myself for this card because I remembered to do the Lizzie Anne Weekly Sketch Challenge on time! Little Miss Purplicious is based on the children's book Purplicious - and if you have a daughter you've probably heard of it! My little one loves it. I kept the card itself very simple, so that she could really shine in her purple tutu. I colored my image with Copics and added Grape Stickles to her headpiece and tutu for some fun bling - all ballerinas love a little bling, right? The main image panel is sponged, but it is hard to tell in the photo - I did it very lightly. For a finishing touch, I added the purple tiles to each panel.If you'd like a closer look, you can click on the picture to make it full size.

Monday Sketch Challenge!

Hi everyone, Happy Presidents Day! It's time for our Monday Sketch Challenge...

 

The extra challenge this week is to add something soft and warm to your card...felt, velvet, fluffy ribbon, flock or wooly, etc. Why? Because it's COLD out there and it makes me feel like snuggling up in a warm blanket with some warm socks and some hot cocoa. (If you live in a warmer climate this may not apply to you but I know there are plenty of us FREEZING out there right now, ha ha!) Make sure to post your creation on our forum and you are welcome to upload it to our Customer Gallery under the Sketch Challenge heading too! Make sure to label it LAD_WC_66. When we were at Winter CHA we were looking for some fun accessories for cardmaking that would coordinate with our stamps. When we saw these mini chipboard shapes from Maya Road we just fell in love! They are the perfect size for cards, a great way to add dimention, and the shapes are oh so cute.

 

 

This is a card featuring our Gizmos and Gears stamp set and Maya Road chipboard gears. A match made in heaven! The gears were colored with Copic markers which worked wonderfully, and they can also be inked with a stamp pad or covered with patterned paper.

We have six different chipboard sets in: Gears, Mini Tags, Trees, Flowers, and two alphabets, David and Jonathan. They can be found in the Misc. Supplies area of our website!
