Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! It's time for the weekly sketch challenge. The extra twist or challenge this week is to step outside your comfort zone. Meaning, don't reach for your favorite stamps, papers, or color scheme. Try something new...be daring! Maybe it's a new technique you've been apprehensive about trying? Just go for it! Hello! It's Wednesday...time to highlight one of our super fabulosa design team members! Today's rock star is the one and only Maren Benedict! We adore Maren! Her designs are always unique and fresh, and completely adorable too! Every time she sends us one of her cards, I pretty much fall off my chair! She is completely full of ingenious ideas and makes ME want to buy our stamps! :) We feel super lucky to have this incredibly talented woman on our team!

Le Jardin and French Floral paper

Happy Sunday to all our fellow stampers out there today! It's time to announce this weeks featured products...Le Jardin and our French Floral patterned paper---paper that actually has images that coordinate with some of the images in the stamp set! An example of this is below...

 

This is a simple little card I made for a group of crafty women in my church to mass-produce and give to a nursing home so that the ladies there will have cards to mail out to their loved ones. As you can see the big flower image (from the Le Jardin stamp set) matches the floral paper...that's because the same flower image was used! And then a pretty leaf pattern on the top...all from the French Floral paper pack. I just added a little glitter and a little ric-rac ribbon and it's ready to go...when the paper matches the stamp image the card looks "designy" without even having to try! I love that! :)

I Love Bookmarks!

I mean, who doesn't? They are wonderful gifts to give, to receive, and really come in handy. But I recently got bored with the rectangular bookmark, or the the small corner ones. So I came up with a new one! Now, I'm sure someone has already done this, but I haven't nor have I seen it. Cross my heart, Scout's honor :)
Mine is a wee bit crooked, because I stamped the Love Tattoo a little to one side. But not so much I couldn't still use it, so I went for it!

Here's how I made it:

• I started by stamping the image at the bottom of the page, lengthwise.
• I then figured out by eye where the backside needed to end, just at the edges of the leaves
• I cut to there, and the used Copics to color my image.
• Once colored, I cut it out with paper snips.
• I paper pierced around the edge and highlighted them with a white gel pen. 
• I used the "Love" sentiment from the "So Much Love" set to stamp it three times at the top.
• On the inside I adhered two small magnets on each side, to make sure it would stay put in a book.
