• The monthly newsletter goes out

Saturday, October 3rd: World Card Making Day! Plan some time today to join your fellow cardmakers around the world and make a card. We challenge you to try and use a Lizzie Anne stamp that you have not used before! Post it to Lizzie Anne Land and / or the customer gallery for everyone to see! Visit the Paper Crafts World Card Making Day website for more fun festivities.

Wednesday, October 7th and 8th:  Our Fall stamp release sneak peeks are scheduled for these two days. Make sure to visit our blog to see the new stamps...and our Design Team will have lots of new-release samples for you to see too! We have some great new holiday sets we are going to be revealing!

Friday, October 9th: Our new stamp sets will be available for purchase!

We're also mailing out the October Monthly Mix sets by the end of this week!

Weekly Sketch Challenge!

Let's start with this week's featured Product of the Week....In the Treetop. This is a GREAT fall stamp set and was a Paper Crafts Magazine Pick. Here are some samples from the Sketchbook...

Meridith used some lovely Fall colors for the trees in this sample.

 

I really like all the texture that AJ used on this In the Treetop card.

 

Jeni  added some red dots and made it a a cute apple tree!

Other stuff going on this week....

We've just released some fun Halloween digital papers...introducing Spooktacular! These papers specifically coordinate with our Spooked, Hallow's Eve, and Fright Night stamps. All you need is a printer and you can print as much digital paper as you like!

Lizzie's Pick of the Week

It's my turn to host the pick of the week, and the samples I picked today all have one thing in common....they use patterned paper that we either design or sell. Read on...

You may not have known this but the paper that Bethany used in the background is the Graham Cracker paper from The Great Outdoors digital paper pack!  She used it with the The Great Outdoors stamps set (and how cute are those mushrooms?)

The digital paper we designed to coordinate with Sweets and Treats is one of my favorites. I love how Rose Ann created a diagonal background with two different patterns. Notice how the flower patterned paper matches the flower pattern on the popsicle!

Guess where this patterned paper came from? This is from the Winter Wonderland paper pack we designed last year, and it matches our little Snowmen stamp single...one of our most popular holiday stamps! We still have this paper available through the end of the Holiday season...but after Christmas it will be retired. So get it while you can!

 

This is a card I just made last night with images from our October Monthly Mix set -- A Harvest of Memories -- AND the new Cosmo Cricket paper pads that just arrived! You can find them in our online store here. We visited the Cosmo Cricket booth at CHA this summer and just had to carry the 6x6 paper pads...they are perfect for cards and coordinate so well with our images. The paper I used above is from the Earth Love paper pack.

We will be designing some holiday digital paper very soon...we'll keep you updated!

AJ's Thursday pick of the week

AJ here to share my pick of the week!!  I decided to check out some of the newer Monthly Mix projects-
 First up- a FUN FUN FUN Halloween card from Kendra using the Monthly Mix- Something to Crow about.  I JUST think this little tree is the cutest ever!

I just love the colors of Halloween!  Kendra's card is just adorable- I love the circles and stripes together!

Second up is this bright and cheery card from Wendy- this uses the October Monthly Mix A Harvest of Memories.  That black mat just makes the colors pop! 

Jeanne's card also used the September Monthly Mix Something to Crow about.  I love how the red pops off the page.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all of these projects from the Monthly Mix!!

Rockstar Wednesday

It's Rockstar Wednesday time, and today I am featuring some of the fabulous creations from Bethany Paull.  Bethany has a way with a layout that I have always admired...the way she positions elements on her cards is very creative, and as a graphic designer this is something I can appreciate (it's not easy!) Here's a sample she recently made featuring The Great Outdoors, which is also our featured product this week!

Another thing Bethany does really well is combine patterned paper with our stamp images. Take a look at this card for example....are those not perfect?!  The snail/sentiment is from our Cute as a Bug set.

 

This adorable card features patterned paper from our very own Bloomin' Doodles and Cute as a Bug digital paper pack! The polka-dots and the buttons compliment the caterpillar perfectly!

Finally, a very lovely Get Well card featuring the Get Well Sentiment. Our sentiments have been some of our most popular stamp singles! The flowers are from Bloomin' Doodles.

Newsday Tuesday -- we're Twitterpated

That's right, we're Twitterpated now! (---a quote from Bambi if you aren't familiar, though we're talking about Twitter in this case! :)

We've been told by some of our customers that we really need to embrace technology and get on the bandwagon with Facebook and Twitter. And we agree! So we now have Lizzie Anne Twitter and Facebook pages...add us to your favorites!  We have two little graphics over there in the right-hand column of our blog, or you can join by clicking here...

Also, if you have not heard the news, our October Monthly Mix set has been revealed and is being previewed right here. And here is an adorable card sent to me recently from the lovely Jeanne Streiff...the girls are already going crazy with this set and there are a lots of great samples to see right here in the Sketchbook!

The Great Outdoors

My family had the opportunity to go camping one last time for the Summer last weekend at Lake Wenatchee. These are a few picts of my kids. They are both enjoying the dairy-farm milk I bought (the really good stuff in the carton that we don't normally buy---it fits better in the cooler) and we did a little dutch-oven cooking too...I think the food is my favorite part about camping. Everything tastes better in nature...why is that?!

Camping is always one of my favorite things about Summertime, and it inspired one of my favorite sets from our Summer relese, The Great Outdoors!  I just love all the outdoorsy images in this set...especially the S'mores images (and we ate plenty of S'mores on our trip, I can tell you that!)  So in honor of The Great Outdoors, it is this week's featured Product of the Week.

There are some absolutely adorable samples in the Sketchbook featuring The Great Outdoors...the girls really knocked my socks off with this set. If you haven't seen them yet, go here!

Katie's Pick of the Week

Hi all! Today, I decided to look through the LAD gallery and see what caught my eye.  The first thing that jumped out was this card by Kendra.  I love the scallop and soft ribbon with the skull and crossbones.

Next, I noticed this amazing ornament by Sunghee, I love it!  What a great idea!  Every year for Christmas, I give ornaments that I make to my family - I think I know what I will be doing this year!

And the last card that I want to feature today is this rustic rooster by Wendy.  This rooster may be one of my all time favorite images.  I love the simplicity of this card - and yet at the same time, it packs such a "wow" factor.

Rock Star Wednesday

It's Rockstar Wednesday time and today I wanted to highlight some of the awesome and creative things that Joslyn does for Lizzie Anne!

Joslyn is not only one of our Design Team Rockstars, but she also helps us design our Monthly Mix sets, and she is our company photographer! Have you noticed our beautiful index page and product page photos? Joslyn does these for us, and she makes ALL the samples in those shots as well. A lot of the time she is getting the stamps a day or two before we need the shot!  So-- you can see she is truly a Rockstar!

Here is another beautiful card featuring the flower (one of the images Joslyn drew!) from our September Mix set, and the happy day sentiment is from Circle Sentiments, another set she designed. We love Joslyn's clean and simple style. I especially love her use of ribbons and buttons!

In other news...check out THIS post by Maren, who is kicking off World Cardmaking Day with some AWESOME cards featuring Lizzie Anne images...I just fell over my seat when I saw these! So simple, colorful and fun. What are your World Cardmaking Day plans?!
