I Love You card

Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying the holidays!  I just opened up my new Jan/Feb edition of PaperCrafts Magazine yesterday and saw several projects featuring our stamps in there...including this awesome online project designed by Jeanne featuring our Love Tattoo stamp single. I love this image! And Jeanne did a fabulous job with the coloring and shading.

Merry Christmas!

All of us at Lizzie Anne Designs want to wish you a very Merry Christmas! We hope that this holiday season is full of joy and happiness for all! In the spirit of the season, we have a fabulous, quick and sparkly Christmas card designed by Jeanne Streiff made with the December Monthly Mix set.

Here's how you make it:
 
1. Stamp 3 snowflakes (you have many to choose from in this set!) in brown ink on a 4” X 5” piece of light pink cardstock.

2. Stamp “Merry Christmas” sentiment in black ink.

3. Sponge edges of pink cardstock with brown ink and distress edges. Add to dark brown card back

4. Add rhinestones to centers of snowflakes and you’re done!
 

Stamps: Celebrate (December Monthly Mix) Lizzie Anne Designs
Paper: Light Pink, Dark Brown
Ink: Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot Ranger Distress inks
Other: Adhesive, rhinestones, sponge

Monthly Mix Preview Time!

It's time to preview the January 2010 Monthly Mix set..."From the Heart!" 

Wow...can you believe that it's almost 2010?! Remember the Y2K scare 10 years ago? Ha ha! We were all convinced that our computers would blow up around midnight. Here we are ten years later. Crazy how time flies. (My computer blew up the other night...could it be a Y2010 curse? Or maybe it's just time to get a new iMac. I'll go with that. :)

Anyways, we think you'll love your first new stamp set of the year Mix Members! This one has quite a few Valentine's Day stamps as well as a good sampling of other types of images...AND it has something else we think is quite special, a "photo-stamp." Meaning a stamp made from a photograph! It's the big flower stamp that says "beauty is" (look up there at the photo.) Tell us what you think! If you like it, there could be more photo-stamps in our future. We like to experiment.

Meridith's Pick of the Week

Wow, can you believe it's the middle of December already and can you believe we have less than 2 weeks before Christmas is here? I still have so much to get done! Since Christmas is coming fast upon us I thought I would highlight some fun Christmas cards and a project for you today.

The first one is super cute, but simple card made by Tricia. On this card, she's used our brand new "Nativity" single as her focus. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from our December Monthly Mix. To dress this card up, Tricia added the button, twine and ribbon. Isn't it darling?!

Next up is another simple yet lovely card by Jeni Allen. For this card, she's used our Silent Night set. I really love this colors she's used on this card, and the bit of texture she added to the image by sponging ink lightly around it. Beautiful!

Next is an adorable card designed by Maren Benedict. For this card, she's paired an image from Deck the Halls with some of the images from Way Up North. The little bit of bling really adds to the snowflake ornaments.

Check out this cute card by Jeanne Streiff. She's used the Santa from our "Christmas Magic" set. Do you see how she made Santa's hat fluffy? I love it. I also love her gorgeous coloring! That cute little button adds to the look of the card too.

 

Last but not least is a cute little bird ornament by Wendy Price. What a fun neighbor gift idea! She's taken the bird and wing stamps from "Love and Joy Labels", stamped them onto material, and sewed this cute little ornament. I LOVE this idea! So inexpensive too!

Deb Felts!

We were first introduced to Deb at Summer CHA in Orlando this past July. We were crazy busy doing our make-and-take at the SCS Booth, and sweet Deb offered to help us! We knew she would be a great addition to our team.

A few words from Deb...

Hello everyone!  My name is Deb Felts and I’m thrilled to be part of Lizzie Anne’s design team!  I'm a homeschooling mom of 15-year-old Matthew and wife of 25 years to Patrick.  I grew up in southwest Louisiana but currently live in Fleming Island, Florida, just south of Jacksonville. I've always been a crafter (sewing/needle-arts, basketry, tole painting, stained glass and more!), and began scrapbooking when Matthew was just a baby. When I was introduced to stamping a few years ago, I found that it merged my love of paper crafts with my experience using tints and shades in tole painting and I was immediately hooked!  Stamping is such an amazing hobby…I love every minute of it and I love the friends I’ve made along the way!  It is a real honor to be invited to stamp with LAD, and I hope you’ll find inspiration in my *work*!

Guest Rockstar Stamper - Christi Milliken!

Today we are excited to present to you our first Guest Rockstar Stamper... Christi Milliken! Christi participated in our 100th Sketch Challenge and her card caught our eye...thus she accepted our new challenge to create some cards for us with a stamp set of her choice. The set she chose is one of our favorite floral sets...Le Jardin. She paired this stamp set with several LAD sentiments from other sets.

It's a true sign of creativity when you can take one image and turn it into something else! On this card, Christi used the leaf stamp and made a Fall wreath! Gorgeous. And look at the cute window she made! I can think of ways to use this design for a Christmas card too...I may have to borrow this idea!

One of the things I love about Christi's creations is all the layers and stitching on her cards. I tend to gravitate toward two types of cards...either really simple, or really detailed with lots of stuff. Christi's cards really appeal to my detailed, lots-of-stuff side! After looking at her stitching, I decided I needed a sewing machine for my cards and I went and bought one (true story.)

 

Next up, this elegant embossed birthday card.  She embossed on vellum and cut out the flowers. Note the embossed flowers in the background too. Again, so much detail!

More creative thinking...Christi used one of the flowers in the set to make a Christmas Poinsettia card! I love how she layered the flowers to create a 3-D effect. Ooooh and they have glitter too!

 

This is such a cute card...I love all the elements and patterned paper and ribbon she chose to go with the flowers. And the hand-made flower stem! More stitching and layers...love it.

A lovely Thank You card. I love cards that stamp in three's...in this case, the three little flowers in a row is so simple, yet lovely. And I love the big bow too.
